Alex Corenthin

Alex Corenthin, born in 1956, is a funded member and current President of the Senegalese Chapter of the Internet Society, ISOC Senegal, registered in 1999. A lecturer at Polytechnic Institute of University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar since 1981, he is considered a Senegalese Internet pioneer, and is the administrative contact of .sn ccTLD, since 1992.

After attending the first INET Workshop for developing countries in 1996 in Montreal, he helped with the dissemination of Internet technology regionally, and within the organization of INET Francophone Regional Workshops. After serving as ISOC ambassador during the WSIS process, he was elected from 2003 to 2005 as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Francophone Institute of Information Technology and Training (INTIF). He is a member of several technical organizations, including the OSIRIS (Observatoire sur les Systèmes d'Information, les Réseaux et les Inforoutes au Sénégal), W3C Senegal bureau, AFNOG, AfTLD, and WacREN, at the national and regional levels.
