Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a nomination?

Start by completing the nomination form. Then, you need to include three endorsement letters from three different endorsers. The letters should come from people with various perspectives, both inside and outside the nominee’s geographic region and place of employment. These can be current perspectives or reflect on the nominee during their Internet contribution.

What if a nominee has made several contributions to the Internet?

Even better! Special consideration may be given to a nominee’s lifelong Internet-related accomplishments, contributions to more than one area of the Internet, and the overall benefit of their technological contributions to society.

How long must a nominee have worked in or contributed to the Internet?

There is no requirement for the length of time the nominee has worked in/contributed to the Internet. Similarly, recognitions can be made posthumously.

Can individuals who have been previously nominated but not inducted be nominated again?

Absolutely!

Can you nominate yourself?

No, unfortunately not. Individuals must be nominated by a third party.

How often does a new induction into the Internet Hall of Fame happen?

We induct new people into the Internet Hall of Fame every two years.

Who decides on the inductees?

The Advisory Board has the responsibility of screening nominations and selecting the inductees. To avoid any potential conflict of interest, members of the Advisory Board cannot make nominations or write endorsements.
